Things to do from Wychanger

Walking: There are walks straight on to the moor from the garden. For ideas of walks on Exmoor go to West Country Walks or have a look at the North Devon and Exmoor Walking Festival.

Horse riding: This can be enjoyed at either Burrowhayes Riding Stables for the less confident riders and children. Huntscott Stables for more experienced riders.

Mountain biking: There are plenty of off-road tracks in this part of Exmoor - hire of bikes from Porlock Cycle Hire.

For other outdoor and extreme sports go to Active Exmoor which has all the up-to-date information on activities on Exmoor.

West Somerset Steam Railway starts at Minehead and goes to Bishops Lydeard. It is one of the longest heritage steam railways and makes a great day out.

Dunster Castle - National Trust - overlooks the most attractive medieval village of Dunster. There you will also find the Yarn Market, Dunster Mill, the old church and Priory, the Tithe Barn and the Nunnery.

Holnicote Estate National Trust organise various activities.

Exmoor Falconry and Animal Farm offers a variety of farm animals and some beautiful falcons which you can watch being flown, including owls. You can also go horse riding there if you are experienced. Bossington Beach is close by, part of the Porlock shingle ridge, protecting the Porlock Marsh and Vale.

Exmoor Food Festival takes place each October, celebrating the the excellent food producers on and around the moor.

Excellent Tea rooms at Horner with some glorious walks from there.

Luccombe  gardens open each year on Father's Day weekend - light lunches and teas served in Village Hall both days.

St Mary's Church, Luccombe - Flower Festival  25th, 26th and 28th July 2009. Light lunches and cream teas in Village Hall for the 3 days.

Church services each week 9.30 am, all welcome.

Porlock, Exford, Dunster, Winsford and Withypool all have charming places to eat local produce in small restaurants and pubs. The choice is yours!
